E-mail Print PDF

Kempton Park is delighted to announce three fabulous family days out at the Sunbury racecourse this spring, starting with a chance to meet the fire fighting hero, Fireman Sam on Saturday, 31st March.

On the last Saturday in March the "hero next door" Fireman Sam will be dropping by the racecourse to entertain you, your family and friends!  Fresh from Pontypandy, Fireman Sam, who has been racing to the rescue of his friends and colleagues in all sorts of perilous situations since he first made his UK TV debut in 1987, will be joined by Norman Price, the mischievous seven-year-old school boy.  Fireman Sam and Norman will entertain you with their ‘Extra, Extra, Read all about it’ show, taking place at various intervals throughout the day.

Fireman Sam, popular with millions of children, is a pillar of the community and the saviour of every rescue.  Whether stuck on a high cliff-face or caught in an underground cave, the children of Pontypandy know help is always close at hand thanks to brave and resourceful fire fighting hero.  Over 27 million Fireman Sam books have been sold globally and the Fireman Sam Deluxe Fire Station Playset, from Character Options, won 'Pre-school Toy of the Year' at the Toy Industry Awards in January 2011.  In the UK the Fireman Sam magazine is a top 20 pre-school title with over 30 thousand copies sold each month.

Saturday, 31st March at Kempton Park will be a fun-filled day for all the family. During the afternoon racegoers will be entertained by music, dancing and fun fair rides, plus there will be an opportunity to meet and greet your heroes from the hit TV show.  Kids will be able to enjoy looking at a real-life, on-site fire engine and learn all about life as a fire-fighter from the men and women of Sunbury Fire Station.  Mediforce will be giving tours of an ambulance and there will be free face painting for the kids.  Racegoers will have the opportunity to enter a competition prize draw during the afternoon to win a Sweet Hamper courtesy of the Sweet Treat Co. www.sweettreatco.co.uk

If you are looking for a great day out for your little ones, during the holiday weekend, get down to Kempton Park where you can meet the cheeky little piggies.  Don’t forget to bring your camera to snap a memorable picture of the day.

On Bank Holiday Monday, 7th May the inaugural running of the Mascot Grand National takes place at Kempton Park.  Mascots from up and down the country will be thundering down the final furlong, jumping over specially made hurdles en route to victory in the mad cap race for club mascots.  The hilarious race that raises hundreds of pounds for charity will take place before an afternoon of horseracing on the all-weather track.  If you know of a charity, sports club or other organisation with a mascot that may be interested in entering the Mascot Grand National please call us on 01932 782292 for further information on how to enter or visit the website at www.kempton.co.uk to download an entry form.
