The Irish Horse Welfare Trust (IHWT) and equestrian holiday specialist Zara’s Planet are launching the first African Horse Riding Safari ‘Track Down the BIG 5’ in South Africa, in aid of the Wicklow-based horse charity.
The Irish Horse Welfare Trust is offering limited places on its extraordinary African horse riding adventure, where participants will track down Big 5 game across several game reserves, muster cattle on a Bonsmara stud farm and even take a poloxrosse challenge.
The nine-night adventure goes from12th to 21st November 2011 and the cost is €3,500 per person which includes flights, transfers, full board and all horse riding. Approximately 30% of monies will go directly to supporting the work of IHWT. Uniquely, non-riders can also be catered for.
Sharon Newsome, co-founder of IHWT, who will be going with the group says: “We are very excited about this adventurous safari trip which is priced really competitively and we hope to raise some good funds as well as provide a unique experience to donors.”
A trip pack and video that has been produced about this adventure can be viewed on the IHWT website and Facebook page.
Spaces are limited and IHWT expects there to be a good take-up.
