Milliner Suzanne GIll has launched a nationwide search for a ‘brand ambassador’ to help promote her own-label headwear.
Ampleforth-based Suzanne Gill, who runs Suzanne Gill Millinery with the ethos ‘every woman deserves to feel special', is looking for someone to appear at specific events wearing one of her creations.
The person chosen can look forward to a number of opportunities to strut their stuff. They will receive a pair of tickets to a horseracing event courtesy of Eclipse Magazine, and a complimentary dinner, bed and breakfast for two at the prestigious Black Swan Hotel in Helmsley. The person chosen will be presented with a bespoke hat designed and made by Suzanne.
“Whoever applies must have a passion for fashion” she says. “They must appreciate well-made, classic designs that are produced in the UK and be willing to appear at specific events." One such is a fashion show at the Black Swan Hotel in Helmsley, on Sunday 16th September.
Suzanne Gill has been designing and making high-end headwear since graduating from Leeds College of Art, two years ago. She makes hats for all seasons and occasions. One of her creations was picked out as 'Best Hat' at last year's Cheltenham Festival. Suzanne was recently invited by the Royal Horticultural Society to present her latest collection at the RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park.
She said, "I fell into millinery completely by accident, and to say it changed my life is a huge understatement. I went from being a mum, to a mature student, and then on to running my own business, all in a short space of time."
Suzanne's company ethos revolves around helping women to grow their confidence and feel special, and in many instances her clients have faced tough times and had to overcome the odds, such as a serious illness or emotional turmoil, to win through.
This is where the idea for a 'brand ambassador' came from.
She says:
" I would particularly like to hear from any woman over 18 who feels they have an inspirational story to tell, and who would genuinely relish the opportunity to represent my brand, conveying style and elegance. I cannot change everyone's life but if I can make at least one lady feel totally special, it would be a huge honour for me."
