Well it’s hat time of year again!! Not that you will guess with the very unseasonable weather.

One of Yorkshire’s up and coming bespoke milliners, Suzanne Gill, has joined the ranks of the headwear industry’s best and brightest by winning a 2012 Hatty Award.

Milliner Suzanne GIll has launched a nationwide search for a ‘brand ambassador’ to help promote her own-label headwear.

When I wrote my last blog we were in the middle of an unseasonable heat wave. If you were like me your summer wardrobe had an airing and spring had sprung!!

Well Cheltenham Festival is here. It seems like yesterday that one of my designs won best hat at last year’s Festival, and what a year it has been.

I can’t quite believe it is still January (just!). Since the turn of the New Year I have had my head down and been busy making my Spring Collection for Harvey’s of Halifax. It’s really nice working on summer hats in the dark winter days it certainly gives you a lift on the cold days.

Christmas is just around the corner and after having a very busy time working on a number of projects including designing and making 20 hats exclusively for Harvey’s of Halifax I am, like most people looking forward to a break with my family.

When Tracy Rose first wore her own hat design to Royal Ascot, the photographers couldn’t get enough snaps. Now 30 years on she is still creating quirky designs and the photographers are still snapping.

Except for the heatwave a few weeks ago (which was received with much joy in our house!!!) autumn is truly here. Summer is my favourite season but I love autumn: I love the colours and the crisp mornings.
