Understanding Odds
A chance to visit England footballer Michael Owen's state-of-the-art racehorse training complex is one of the prizes to be auctioned at a lunch in July to raise funds for the Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Centre.
The summer lunch and auction will be held at Chester Racecourse on Thursday 23 July as horse racing teams up with Europe's original charity for the rehabilitation of former racehorses.
TRC patrons Louise Owen - Michael's wife - and former Coronation Street star Charlie Lawson - who will also act as auctioneer - will be at the racecourse to meet everyone who attends.
Auction items include a visit to Louise and Michael Owen's Manor House stables in Cheshire, followed by racing at Chester Racecourse in the Owens' hospitality box.
Another prize is half a day for a winning bidder and their dog with TRC patron and companion animal instructor Sarah Fisher at Tilley Farm near Bath, followed by lunch or tea with Sarah and TRC patron and actor Anthony Head.
Tickets for the Chester Racecourse lunch are £85 and can be purchased from the TRC office on 01524 812649.
TRC ambassador Carrie Humble said: "The fund-raising lunch at Chester Racecourse is going to be an enormously enjoyable occasion to support the work of the Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Centre. We are very grateful to our patrons and to the racecourse for their help and support."
Further information about the TRC is available at www.thoroughbredrehabilitationcentre.co.uk.
