Yorkshire Search for Best Dressed Lady

From L to R - Suzanne Edwards-Vidal, winner of Best Dressed Lady Racegoer in Yorkshire 2008 and Yorkshire-based actress Claire King

The search is on for the Best Dressed Lady Racegoer in Yorkshire as Yorkshire’s nine racecourses -  Beverley, Catterick, Doncaster, Pontefract, Redcar, Ripon, Thirsk, Wetherby and York - launch a series of Ladies’ Days running from May to September.

Each Yorkshire course will be hosting a Ladies’ Day and running a competition to find the Best Dressed Lady Racegoer on the day. Fabulous prizes are on offer throughout the season and each winner will be invited to a Grand Finale which will be held during the St Leger Festival at Doncaster on Ladies’ Day on 10 September.

Yorkshire-based actress, Claire King, who has starred in TV’s Emmerdale and Bad Girls will be there to help judge the overall winner, who will win the star prize of a luxury pampering two-night stay for two at the award-winning Aldwark Manor, near York. Also, the ladies adjudged the first three in the Final will receive vouchers from ‘Hats By Billy’ to the value of £200, £100 and £75 respectively regarding bespoke hats and fascinators.

The first Ladies’ Day in the county takes place at Wetherby on Thursday 21 May featuring catwalk collections from students of The Leeds College of Art & Design - more info

Last year’s Best Dressed Lady Racegoer was Suzanne Edwards-Vidal from Beverley, who claimed a place in the Final after winning at her local racecourse in August.
