Senior Citizens discount for racedays

Senior citizens are to receive discounted tickets to five racecourses in a new initiative launched by the East Region of Jockey Club Racecourses.

The Diamond Club – for racegoers of state pension age and older – will offer admission at below the full rate at most fixtures in the general enclosures of Newmarket (Rowley Mile), Newmarket (July Course), Huntingdon, Nottingham and Market Rasen Racecourses.

There is 25 per cent off standard admission prices, four free away days which include a half-price race-card, points for The Jockey Club’s Rewards4Racing loyalty scheme and other exclusive offers.

The club launches at the Craven Meeting at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile, the start of the Flat season in 2015 at the Home of Horseracing.

Diamond Club membership costs just £5 and runs for a year. The only fixtures not covered by the club are music events.

Senior citizens can become members online at www.newmarketracecourses.co.uk (where full terms can be found), by calling 0844 579 3010, by post or in person at any of the racecourses. Tickets can be purchased on the day of racing or by telephone or online in advance.

The four free away days are at Nottingham (19th May), Newmarket (25th June), Market Rasen (5th November) and Huntingdon (10th November).

Amy Starkey, Director of Jockey Club Racecourses East Region, said:

“We’re excited to be launching our new Diamond Club at the Craven Meeting at Newmarket Racecourses. Senior citizens are among some of the most loyal visitors at each of the racecourses in the East Region of Jockey Club Racecourses and we are delighted to be offering them extra value so that they can enjoy the thrill of coming racing.”
