HAYDOCK PARK – Summer Family Fun Day
It’s the Haydock Park Family Beach Day! Bringing the fun of the seaside to the racecourse (minus the sea!), play on the replica beach, located in front of the stage area where there’ll be music and games throughout the day. Bring your bucket and spade and build sandcastles to your heart’s content*. Join in beach games, sports day style, so you could win a medal if you’re the best at the ‘Beach Ball Spoon Race’ or ‘Stick of Rock Relay’! Enjoy candy striped stalls, so you can hook ‘a’ duck and Hoopla, along with inflatable assault course, craft tables and face painting.
*Please note, deck chairs will not be provided. Customers are welcome to bring their own picnics and fold-away seating for this day.

Ahoy there me Hearties!! When it comes to family fun, this is one of the highlights of the year, with a chance to don your best pirate outfit or favourite Caribbean shirt. Boogie along to the North Tyneside Steel Band, learn some pirate chants, and grab some treasure in the fancy dress competitions for both adults and children.
No wonder every pirate’s favourite racecourse is Redcaaaaaar!

Feature race: Salisbury’s principle race of the season – the £76,500 Tattersalls Sovereign Stakes, is a Group 3 race over 1 mile. This is also Salisbury’s most valuable raceday with over £150,000 in prize money across the seven races.

NEWMARKET – Summer Saturday Country Fair Raceday
Celebrate the beautiful East Anglian Countryside and all that it has to offer. From live music, welly wanging and farriery demonstrations to traditional rural crafts and animal displays, this day promises to be brimming with free activities for everyone as well as an action-packed full afternoon of racing.
Saturday 17th August
The biggest crowd of the season will flock to Perth Racecourse for a mixture of first-class jump racing and brilliant summer entertainment. It’s a real carnival vibe and the crowds will be entertained by live music, magicians and more.
The Grandstand and Centre Course areas are open with live music and entertainment on throughout the day.
Drive right in and bring your own picnic to the Centre Course area. Let the kids play while you grab a drink from the Sports Bar and watch the action unfold.

PONTEFRACT – The In The Zone Family Day
Featuring a funfair, face painting, circus, free sweets, activity packs and racecards for kids, pony rides, trips to the starts of races and a ‘Hunt The Golden Horseshoe’ competition. Plus visit zones around the Enclosures that offer racegoers the chance to engage with and learn a little more about different parts of the industry:
The jockey zone – pre register for an ex-jockey’s take on how to ride Ponte. Walk the last 6 furlongs at 11.30am (numbers limited)
The industry zone – Behind the Scenes Tour in the Weighing Room from 12.30pm–12.45pm
The horse zone – Join the ex-racehorses and vets during a parade of ex-racers from 12.45pm–1pm
The quiet zone – Enjoy a free tea or coffee while you read the Racing Post and sort out your selections. Peace and quiet between 12.30pm and 1pm in the Betting Hall
The newcomers zone – Meet the ‘Here to Help’ team who’ll show you around and explain how an afternoon at the races works. Marquee Site – 1.00pm
The tipster zone – Listen to the expert Punters Panel in the Winner’s Enclosure at 1.30pm
The kids’ zone – Get the kids involved with the live demonstrations of horse handling and care. Watch them enjoy the Interactive Kids zone throughout the afternoon in the Picnic Enclosure.
The racing highlight of the day is the EBF Highfield Farm Flying Fillies Listed race and you’ll be seeing some very speedy equine ladies.

BANGOR ON DEE – Family Evening
Expect an exciting line up of Jump racing alongside free family fun activities including: Face painting; Crafts; Crazy golf; Climbing wall; and Inflatable play zone (Farmyard Playzone, Giraffe Slide, Pirate Ship, Dash n Grab).
Monday 19th August
There will be fun for all the family with lots of FREE entertainment, plus not forgetting all the racing action for all the parents. There will also be two pony races before racing, so make sure to arrive plenty of time before the first race!
Tuesday 20th August
Set to be a great day for all the family, children’s activities include: Didi Cars; Giant Inflatable Slide; and Face Painting. There will also be two dog show classes in the parade ring starting at 12.20 with the wiggliest tail and then 12.45 with Best Young Handler. The new Picnic Ticket will be available for families wishing to come and bring a picnic.

A fabulous day of racing at the July Course is full of fun for all of the family and will also feature an appearance from everyone’s favourite bear; Paddington! As well as a thrilling afternoon of racing, there will be family sports day races and the Horseplay Roadshow will be on site throughout the day, which gives children the chance to learn through role play and interactive games.

Bank Holiday Family Fun Day for the perfect day out for all the family. In addition to an afternoon of racing there will be entertainment and children’s rides to keep the younger ones entertained.
A favourite British pastime, why not pop along with your family for some great food, drinks and the racing. This is a small racecourse so if you are new to it, rest assured you will find it very friendly.

Pirates Family Day sees the return of the brilliant Captain Jack Sparrow look-a-like with his swashbuckling shenanigans. Follow his antics as he tries to recruit more seafaring crew and tries his hand on the coconut shy.
There will be a treasure hunt in the family enclosure, which if successful a chest full of treasure can be found.
There will be face painting and a huge inflatable Pirate Ship Assault Course for those more adventurous among you.

Karen can usually be found glued to her computer or at the stables. Having edited several national magazines she co-founded Eclipse Magazine in 2008 after realising that many of her friends were nervous about going racing due to lack of information – what to wear, how to bet etc.
